CM Plus

A breakthrough in the Treatment of Arthritis and other Auto Immune Disorders.

Cetyl Myristoleate, (CM), is a type of fatty acid that naturally occurs in animals, nuts, vegetables and butter. Once it has been correctly extracted and prepared it can be taken orally and has high bio-availability, i.e. it is easily absorbed, (with certain exceptions, e.g. a lack of digestive enzymes and liver damage). It was first discovered in albino mice, it was noticed these mice do not suffer from arthritis. A researcher bravely injected himself with some fatty acids from the mice and found his osteo-arthritis rapidly became greatly improved. Since then, (1974), much research has been undertaken to isolate the relevant nutritional components and render them more bio-available. A process to extract and refine the CM from beef fat was developed, and was given the trade mark CMO. This has been marketed as an expensive nutritional ,(e.g. around £130 for a tub of capsules), product. Later CM was successfully extracted and refined from a vegetable source and found to have a wider nutritional profile relating to the curative properties of certain fatty acids. This has been trade marked CM Plus.

Arthritis, along with other auto-immune disorders, (osteo-arthritis is now understood to be an auto-immune disorder, along with rheumatoid arthritis, as proved by successful treatment with CM Plus or CMO, that works by shutting down the self destruct sequence of the immune system), have been very difficult to treat either with drugs or with natural remedies. Good therapeutic protocols, especially with arthritis, only have limited success, the disease inevitably regains a stronghold, after some temporary relief. e.g. glucosamine was found to help arthritis but the results where not permanent. With Cetyl Myristoleate, all that is needed is a course of treatment for about 2 to 3 months and the arthritic process shuts down permanently, however serious the condition. Although in a minority of cases, another course may have to be taken later. In practice, a high proportion of individuals report greatly lessened pain in a few days or weeks, with from 70 to 100% improvement in mobility. In situations where the bones have fused together, one should not expect to have improved mobility, but these cases are in the great minority.

Clinical trials indicate that from 60 to 72.8% of persons taking CM plus achieved improvement from just 30 days use of CM Plus, the patients were monitored over a 32 month period. Patients who took GlucosamineSulphate along with the CM plus achieved a higher improvement rate. Other studies indicate that of the approximately 30-40% who did not respond, a further, or extended course led to most of these individuals experiencing great improvement. In summary, most people will loose their arthritis either completely or experience great improvement, obviously related to general health, age and the amount of damage that has been done.

How does Cetyl Myristoleate work?

Our immune system has developed to protect us from invasion by harmful bacteria, virus, and also help to clean up debris from old, worn out cells. Part of its armoury are T cells. In the auto-immune process the T cells attack our healthy cells, in the case of arthritis the attack occurs in the joints and cartilage etc.. in multiple sclerosis, the nerve sheaths are attacked, in Crohns disease the lining of the bowel is attacked. Even diabetes has an auto-immune component, where the T cells attack and damage the Pancreas. This process of attack is unremitting, although it will, as with all auto-immune disorders, wax and wane, but over time, inevitably the cells, joints, bowel, nerves etc, all continue to deteriorate, as in this situation, the healing process is slower than the damage process. Cetyl Myristoleate is an immunomodulator, that is, it returns the immune system to normal functioning. It’s as if the immune system just got stuck into the idea that ones own cells where the enemy, ad infinitum. The introduction of Cetyl Myristoleate e.g, in the form of CMO or CM Plus enables the immune system to ‘see sense’, to calm down and stop the self destruction. When this happens, very rapidly the pain and inflammation will cease and the body will then be able to heal itself. Cetyl Myristoleate and other related fatty acids, such as those contained in CM Plus, are stored in the liver. It is for this reason that persons with seriously impaired livers due to disease / toxic side effects of drugs, e.g, methotrexate, may only partially respond, or not at all. Also alcohol consumption should be eliminated or gradually reduced during the course of treatment with e.g, CM Plus.

Other Disorders that may respond to CM Plus

As discussed, CM has a high success rate with arthritis. This includes osteo-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, also the rarer forms of arthritis e.g, Reiter’s, Behcet’s and Sjogrens syndromes, ankylosing spondylitis, psoratic arthritis, also various types of back pain that may be related to an arthritic process. Non arthritic disorders that may respond and have responded (anecdotal evidence), include; migraine and cluster headaches, carpet tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, lupus, painful jaw syndrome, neuralgia, back and foot pain of undetermined origin, silicone breast disease, Crohn’s disease, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, simple asthma, psoriasis, scleroderma, macular degeneration, hypertension. sciatica, diabetes, prostrate inflammation, and emphysema.
