This was given to us by a friend. It is given to obese heart patients in America before the operation can commence and it works if you stick to the plan. Feel free to print it and distribute a copy to anyone serious about dieting. Please let us know how you got on with the diet plan and we will post the result on the web site if you like.

Day One

Breakfast

black tea or coffee

half grapefruit

1 slice toast

small tin baked beans

Lunch

100g tuna

1 slice toast

black tea or coffee

Dinner

2 slices any cold meat

100g string beans

100g beetroot

I small apple

100g vanilla ice cream

Day Two

Breakfast

black tea or coffee

half Banana

1 slice toast

1 poached Egg

Lunch

100g cottage cheese

5 ritz/tuc biscuits

black tea or coffee

Dinner

2 slices any cold meat

100g broccoli

50g carrots

half banana

100g vanilla ice cream

Day Three

Breakfast

black tea or coffee

1 slice cheddar

1 small apple

5 ritz/tuc biscuits

Lunch

1 poached egg

1 slice toast

black tea or coffee

Dinner

100g tuna

100g beetroot

100g cauliflower

half honeydew melon

100g vanilla ice cream


The diet works on a chemical breakdown and is apparently proven.

Do not vary or substitute any of the above foods, salt and pepper are the only seasoning you are allowed, where no quantity is given there are no restrictions apart from sense.

It should be used for 3 days of the week, every week, until you are comfortable with your weight.

Toast should be dry, string beans and beetroot can be frozen.

1 should warn you that you will be starving! we suggest you try a couple of rice cakes when the hunger became unbearable, it helps a lot, try to eat every five hours otherwise you will be famished by bed time! Drink plenty of black tea or coffee as it is an appetite suppressant, water fills your tummy too.

When it comes to dinnertime, eat the meal then have the pudding about an hour or so later - the ice cream really fills you up and you will be surprised how much of it you get to eat!
